Janetta COOKE was born at "Victoria Cottage" in Gerringong. Following her first marriage, her husband worked for Michael HINDMARSH at 'Ivy Mount', while Janetta ran a guest house at 'Billow View'. After a short period farming at Croome, the couple returned to live on Cooke's farm at Gerringong, where Malcolm died on 3 Sept 1916. She married Harold Arthur Alexander ROSS on 16 Feb 1918. After her remarriage, Janetta and Harold remained in Gerringong.
Janetta was a lover of flowers, and of cooking, and had considerable success in these two fields at local shows. In 1922, she was invited by the RAS to exhibit at their centenary show, where she was successful in winning numerous prizes.
Janette married Malcolm Kenneth MATHIE on 27 Nov 1907 in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia. (Malcolm Kenneth MATHIE died on 3 Sep 1916.)
